The Sex Education actress is taking over the pleasure-product biz – finally.
Gillian Anderson, the Sex Education actress and one half of the iconic X-Files duo that literally created sexual tension, has embarked on a new, bold endeavor: creating products that solely focus on female pleasure.
The actress and activist has recently published her fifth book, and while her previous works have been science fiction novels and a manifesto for women, this new book is all about female sexual pleasure. In Want: Sexual Fantasies by Anonymous, Anderson collects the sexual desires of women, of all different ages, races, sexual orientations, and religions. She even includes her own anonymous letter.
Anderson is no stranger to promoting women. She’s been a member of the Feminist Majority Fund since the 1990s, and is an active supporter of women’s rights in Afghanistan and Myanmar. Additionally, she has called for reproductive health and birth control options for women. Her new book continues her goal to normalize female sexuality and desire.
The actress also started her own soft drink, aptly named G Spot, in 2023. The drink is non alcoholic and caffeine free, with natural ingredients meant to boost your mood, so anyone can enjoy it. The company website even says, “taste what pleasure feels like.” While previously only sold in the UK, this year, the brand has started to become available in the U.S.
The drink names pair perfectly with her new book. There’s “soothe,” “lift,” “protect,” and “arouse,” so you can select your drink based on how you want to feel. For a limited time, the arouse flavor design is pink, to match the cover of Anderson’s new book.
With companies like G Spot and books like Want: Sexual Fantasies by Anonymous, here’s hoping that other businesses direct more of their focus as to what women desire from products.
