Pop the champagne – Maven Clinic was just valued at $1.7 billion, making it the first female and family centered startup to reach this achievement.
For anyone looking for a one stop shop (or app) for all your reproductive cycle needs, look no further than Maven. The company is a virtual clinic, offering patients an extensive online network of fertility, pregnancy, adoption, parenting, and pediatrics services.
It was founded by CEO Kate Ryder after she noticed her friends were struggling to find resources for family planning. Now, it’s a one stop shop (or app) for all your reproductive cycle needs.
Maven Clinic has ten years of experience under its belt. Over the last decade, the company has been utilized by millions and has famous investors including Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey.
For the last few years, Maven Clinic has been on the CNBC Disruptor 50, referring to startups that are taking leaps and bounds with the technology they use. It’s no wonder, with the company having Amazon and Microsoft as partners.
This is the first U.S. startup dedicated to women’s and family health to reach “unicorn” status – a valuation of more than $1 billion. It closed a $125 million funding round at a $1.7 billion valuation.
“Digital health is just at the very beginning,” Ryder told CNBC.
Ryder says she does plan to go public in the future.
